Northeast Regional Children's Advocacy Center (NRCAC) has released: The Importance of the Medical Exam:

What MDT Partners Need to Know.

This video training discusses:
  • the importance of the medical exam for child abuse victims,
  • the importance of specialized providers who have training in this area,
  • and "why normal is normal" 
MDTs can use this training as an orientation tool for both incoming and current MDT members. NRCAC has also created a companion fact sheet to accompany the video training.

Working Effectively With Military Families: 10 Key Concepts Providers Should Know
This presentation will describe 10 Key Concepts for providing competent and effective services to military families:
  • including understanding military culture and service systems,
  • the inner workings of military life, common challenges and stressors inherent to military service and family life,
  • the impact of military service on family functioning,
  • negative perceptions of mental health issues and services,
  • protective/promotive factors,
  • barriers and challenges to serving service members and their families.
